Publication Ethics

Kateb Journal of Politics is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. The journal follows the ethical guidelines and principles set forth by reputable organizations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The following publication ethics are expected to be adhered to by all authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication process:

1. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited, and all sources used should be appropriately cited. Any suspicion of misconduct, including plagiarism, will be thoroughly investigated.

2. Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining consent from all co-authors and ensuring that they have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript.

3. Peer Review: The journal employs a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published articles. Reviewers are expected to provide unbiased, constructive, and timely feedback. They should disclose any conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality regarding the reviewed manuscript.

4. Data Integrity and Transparency: Authors should present their research accurately and provide sufficient details and supporting evidence. Any manipulation or fabrication of data is considered unethical and should be avoided. Authors should also be willing to provide raw data if requested.

5. Conflicts of Interest: Authors, reviewers, and editors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation. These conflicts may include financial, personal, or professional relationships that could bias the work.

6. Corrections and Retractions: If errors or significant inaccuracies are identified after publication, the authors have an obligation to promptly notify the journal and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions, as necessary.

7. Ethical Treatment of Human and Animal Subjects: Research involving human or animal subjects should comply with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations. Authors should provide evidence of obtaining informed consent and ethical approval for studies involving such subjects.

8. Copyright and Permissions: Authors should ensure that they have the necessary permissions for any copyrighted material used in their manuscripts. Proper acknowledgment and citation should be provided for all sources.

9. Editorial Independence: The journal's editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit of the submitted work, without any influence from commercial or personal interests.

10. Confidentiality: Editors and reviewers should treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and should not disclose any information regarding the manuscripts to anyone other than those involved in the review process.

Any breaches of these publication ethics may result in appropriate actions, including rejection of the manuscript, retraction of published articles, or notification of relevant institutions or authorities. Kateb Journal of Politics is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the research it publishes, and it expects all contributors to uphold these ethical standards.
